The result is a commissionable sales basis, not necessarily your till total. It is rounded upward so the unrounded calculation reaches the target. A zero rate cannot produce a positive target. This is arithmetic, not a wage or entitlement recommendation.

The working

Required basis = target ÷ (rate ÷ 100), rounded up to a whole cent.

A $500.00 target at 40% requires a $1,250.00 basis. At 35%, the basis is rounded up to $1,428.58.

  • AUD. Monetary results use nearest-cent rounding; exact half cents round away from zero.
  • The sales basis is rounded up to a cent so the unrounded calculation reaches the target. It is not a gross till total unless that is your agreed basis.
