A commission statement that can be traced line by line

Download a blank commission worksheet and a fictional $43.00 statement with source references, signed sales, tax basis, rates and line calculations.

A staff total is easier to review when each contributing line is visible. This CSV records the source reference, date, category, supplied basis, rate and calculated amount for one person’s period. It is an illustrative commission worksheet, not a payslip or a record that a payment has been made.

The useful part

Make the statement total equal the sum of its signed lines. Preserve the assumptions and references needed to explain that sum.

Use the right kind of record

Use this template as a working commission explanation or a supporting handover file. It does not calculate wages, leave, withholding, superannuation or other payroll components. A statement label must not imply those jobs have been completed. The blank file has no formulas or prefilled staff details; enter reviewed values or use a checked export as your source.

Keep the calculation beside the source

Rebuild the fictional $43.00 total

The sample has one $80.00 service commission, $3.00 retail commission and a −$40.00 refund effect. It uses the supplied tax-exclusive basis and line-level rounding to cents. Positive commission is $83.00; the reviewed refund reduces the signed result to $43.00. The file has three item rows and no extra total row that could accidentally be summed twice.

Check what the reader will see

Do not add unrelated customer details to make the statement look complete. Share the information needed to explain the person’s calculation through your chosen authorised channel.

  1. Verify that every line belongs to the named person and period.
  2. Keep refunds signed and state the basis used for their calculation.
  3. Sum the line commission values and compare the result with the reviewed run.
  4. Follow at least one source reference and one exception reference before sharing.

Keep a reviewed copy with its evidence

If a later correction is needed, identify the affected statement and source line rather than silently changing the earlier file. This template does not retain history by itself. For a finished run in Trimsum, inspect the available summary and detail exports first; they may already supply the reviewed information needed for the handover.
